Does the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox Stand Ahead of the Crowd?
When Chevrolet released the 2019 model year edition of Equinox, it offered a handful of different configurations to make more number of people happy than it used to do with its yester year models. The 2019 year edition divides the Chevrolet Equinox series in four trim levels named as L, LS, LT and Premier that can either be ordered as front- or all-wheel drives.
With the rising popularity of crossover SUVs replacing that of the sedan body styles, Chevrolet had to broaden up the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox with as many drivetrains possible. The hard work paid well, as the 2019 Equinox, brought good enough business for Chevrolet this year. The offers attracted more number of shoppers to the reputed dealership showrooms, like we’ve seen at the Jasper Chevrolet. They were happy to get the freedom to choose between the two capacitive gas engines and a turbodiesel engine that returned high-rated mpg.
First Impression
Chevrolet has put in lot of efforts to make the Equinox a likeable crossover SUV, and the first thing you can never miss is the space it allows every occupant to enjoy. Both the breadth and the depth would gulp in four passengers apart from the driver while the good looks and the refined demeanor. Chevrolet has given the Equinox series a redesign last year, and that gets relayed to the 2019 Equinox. So, for 2019, the Equinox can only offer you an updated infotainment software with the new 7.0- and 8.0-inch touchscreen options and with an HD rearview camera available on all trims for better safety.
Power to the Wheels
Under its hood, the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox carries a 170-horsepower making engine of 1.5-liter turbo-4 capacity which is set as the standard. This powertrain includes a 6-speed automatic transmission to pair the engine and pass the power to the respective wheels that you choose to drive with. On the LT and Premier trims you will be offered two upgraded engines. One being the 2.0-liter turbo-4 that cranks out a 252 of hp when hooked to a 9-speed automatic transmission and the other being the 1.6-liter turbodiesel 4-cylinder that mates with a 6-speed automatic transmission to throw a 137 hp which shows it is more focused on returning greater fuel economy rates by the EPA. So, with this you get a 39 mpg of mileage on the highway.
Performance Equation
All the trim levels of the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox are known for driving sound, as much as you can get from the powertrain it runs on. Every driver we spoke to at the Jasper Chevy dealership has shared their experience of excellent isolation from the road imperfections that paved way for the comfortable rides they delivered. Driving thrill might not match to that of the sports cars, but as a family crossover SUV, the buyers were more or less happy and didn’t grudge. Overall, we may say, that the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox stays at par with the crowd, if not ahead.
